This mess was spotted in Kingskerswell and reported by Cllr Gordon Hook, Leader of Teignbridge Council.

Cllr Hook said: ‘It is an act of environmental abuse and those who commit such ignorant acts must be severely punished.

‘We condemn all fly-tipping which not only harms our environment but can cause harm to individuals. We are pleased to say that as a result of information received from the public our enforcement officers are following up on this incident.’

A council spokesman said: ‘To track down offenders and bring cases to court we need the evidence to identify the culprits and bring a prosecution. If you see fly-tipping taking place report it to us via our website and describe the person involved, identify when the rubbish was dumped as well as any other witnesses and give us a description of the vehicle used and ideally its number plate.

‘If you have rubbish to be collected then please either order a bulk collection from the council or if using a private contractor ask to see their licence and take a photograph of the vehicle and number plate used to take it away as well as asking them where they are taking the rubbish to.’
