NEWSAGENT Kevin Gugacz was so taken aback by the increasing number of homeless people on the streets of Newton Abbot that he decided to do something to give them a little Christmas cheer.

He put up a notice in the window of his shop, Amery’s, in Queen Street, with the message: ‘Hampers for the Homeless. Donate all unwanted foodstuffs and help feed Newton Abbot’s Homeless this Christmas.’<
