THE NEW leader of Teignbridge Council has thanked clay company Sibelco for its support of the district’s voluntary sector.
Cllr Wrigley was visiting the premises used by the HITS charity as a base for its foodbank and to provide support for people in the area.
The Sibelco Group have provided the large building at Abbrook Park, Kingsteignton, rent free for HITS since it was facing homelessness itself several years ago.
HITS treasurer Trish Kirkby said: ‘Sibelco saved our bacon - literally, and they have supported us ever since.’
Cllr Wrigley said: 'Sibelco is a major employer in Teignbridge and they provide fantastic support the voluntary sector in the district.
‘They saved local foodback HITS by providing a large building and the charity is very successful thanks to Sibelco.’
