TOMORROW’S Teignbridge Council meeting will be held at an alternative venue as travellers continue their unauthorised encampment in the car park at the authority’s Newton Abbot headquarters.
The overview and scrutiny committee was due to be held in the Forde House council chamber tomorrow morning.
But the car park is currently out of action as up to 20 vehicles moved in at the weekend.
However, ‘due to the ongoing situation’, the location has been switched to Richard Newton Hall in Higher Buckeridge Road, Teignmouth.
It will start later at 11.15am as this is a new venue for the council and staff will need to set up the room.
A spokesman for the council said: ‘Working with the Chair and Vice Chair, our options were to postpone the meeting or hold it at an alternative venue at short notice.
‘As such, we will not be able to live stream this meeting but are looking at other arrangements.
‘But the location is now in Teignmouth so any members of the public who were looking to attend will hopefully find it easier to attend.’
On the agenda is a call in over the decision to close Teignmouth’s Lido.
