A FOOTBALL club in a Teignbridge village has received planning approval for new security measures at its grounds.
Submitted by Tedburn St Mary Football Club, the application - reference 26/00539/FUL - sought permission for security lighting, new entrance gates and the erection of compound fencing at the lower end of the car park at Barley Park.
It also included the siting of two shipping containers within the enclosed compound for storage purposes.
In its covering letter, the club said that the new lighting column was required after equipment, hand tools and diesel was stolen.
And Teignbridge Council have granted planning permission, saying that development must begin within three years.
The council said: ‘The security lighting hereby approved shall be fitted with motion sensors and shall only illuminate when activated by movement.
‘Once activated, the lighting shall remain illuminated for no longer than ten minutes.’
Members of Tedburn St Mary Parish Council unanimously supported the application.
