REPAIRS to a large sink hole which appeared along the sea wall between Teignmouth and Dawlish have been completed.
The footpath along the sea wall between Teignmouth and Smugglers Lane has now reopened.
Teams of engineers from Network Rail have ‘filled the void’ which appeared at Sprey Point after Storm Ingrid.
Work will continue to work on the front next week, in between tides.
However, the footpath along the old sea wall between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren remains closed for safety reasons while repairs continue.
The railway line had to close overnight after the sink hole, measuring 8m by 3.5m appeared near the line.
An estimated 200 tonnes of spoil had to be used to fill the hole.
