MORE than 40 family and friends attended a party in the Teign Corinthian Yacht Club, Teignmouth, on Saturday, to celebrate Cyril Thomas Kerslake's 100th birthday.The last survivor of seven brothers and sisters, Mr Kerslake was joined by his two sons, John (67) and Peter (64), his two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and most of his nephews and nieces.A well known local businessman, Mr Kerslake lived all his life until recently in Whiteway Road, Kingsteignton.Together with his brothers Sydney and Leo, and then his nephew Vernon, he ran the family nursery business in Kingsteignton and Ipplepen, along with a shop in Courtenay Street, Newton Abbot.In his younger days he was active in many aspects of Kingsteignton life.He was a long-serving member of the village cricket club.
