A FUNDRAISING service due to be launched at Newton Abbot Library will help people to get rid of no longer needed confidential papers and keep our library services going.
Barbara Garrick, of Libraries Unlimited, says: ‘Look out for a chance soon to get rid of that backlog of confidential documents you’ve been meaning to shred and at the same time support Libraries Unlimited, the charity that runs libraries in Devon and Torbay.
‘Yes, those old bank statements, bills, NHS letters – in fact any old paperwork can vanish locally for a donation to our charity.
‘Thanks to the generous support of M & J Bowers Ltd, you will have a one-off opportunity to take your documents to a mobile shredding unit, situated close to Newton Abbot library, where they will be shredded on site and then baled and recycled.
‘And all for a donation to Libraries Unlimited (we’d suggest £5 but you may like to give less or more).
‘It’s happening in September, so spread the word, gather your shredding now – no need to remove staples – and watch local press and social media for the exact date.
‘Libraries Unlimited is the charity that runs libraries in Devon and Torbay, bringing ideas, imagination, creativity and knowledge to enrich lives and build thriving communities.’
M & J Bowers is celebrating 50 years in business and are confidential data destruction and recycling specialists.
