A TEIGNMOUTH care worker is throwing down a pool challenge to raise cash for tsunami victims. Jason Pearce, 36, recently visited Patong and was horrified at the devastation. He is returning to Patong next month for a marathon three-day 500-game pool challenge and is warming up with fundraising in Teignmouth beforehand. Mr Pearce has taken on some gruelling charity events before, including a 404km cycle ride across Kenya. 'I decided I wanted to do something to help after hearing that 5,000 people had been lost in Patong,' he said. 'People are sponsoring per game and in the Patong tournament, I hope to win 400 games, 'I have raised more than £2,000 already and hoping to raise £10,000,' he said. Mr Pearce will also be collecting sponsorship at the Co-op, Lower Brook Street, today, tomorrow and next Wednesday and Thursday. Play him at the Brass Monkey from 4pm on Monday, February 26, or at F and Rs bar from noon on Sunday. Email him at [email protected]">[email protected].
