A FUNERAL company from Newton Abbot has made it through to the final stages of a national competition recognising the best in the business.
Scattering Ashes, based at Hannahs at Seale-Hayne, has been selected from hundreds of nominees to go through to the last round of this year’s Good Funeral Awards at Porchester Hall in London on September 7.
It is in line to win the prestigious national title of the What to do with Ashes category.
The Good Funeral Awards, now in their sixth year, promote excellence in the world of funerals, rewarding the best directors and associated services involved in creating memorable funerals.
The awards are supported by consumer advocates the Good Funeral Guide and the Natural Death Centre.
Fran Hall, of The Good Funeral Guide, which is joint organiser of the event, said: ‘The awards recognise exceptional service to bereaved people from all aspects of the funeral industry and supporting services.
‘By progressing this far, Scattering Ashes has already demonstrated outstanding professionalism, empathy and a willingness to go the extra mile,’
Co-organiser Brian Jenner said: ‘The Good Funeral Awards recognise all those unsung heroes who work so hard for the bereaved and whose role can so easily be overlooked.
‘Some of the nicest people in Britain work in the funeral business.’
