The future of Jeffery's Energy Ltd is bright after the company was taken over by Dorset-based business Northover & Sons Ltd, its general manager claimed this week.

The Bovey Tracey firm went into administration after creditors rejected a proposal for a Company Voluntary Arrangement on April 16.

It was a race against time to secure a sale to save 12 jobs at the business.

Lameys Business Recovery and Insolvency, Newton Abbot, was brought into look after the company's affairs and a new buyer, Northover & Sons Ltd, was found on Friday.

'We'll continue trading as Jeffery's,' said Derrick Shrubb, general manager at the Bovey Tracey base.
