IT was more a hair-lowering rather than hair-raising experience for young Georgie Edwards last weekend.

The nine-year-old from Kingskerswell had her long lockdown locks chopped off on Saturday for two deserving charities, with both the Little Princess Trust and the Devon Air Ambulance benefiting from the trim.

‘I was hoping to give seven inches of my hair to the Little Princess Trust,’ said a delighted Georgie.

‘The cut was going to happen in February and the lockdown meant my hair grew even longer so 11 inches was cut off to make wigs for boys and girls who have lost their hair from cancer.’

In addition to helping the Little Princess Trust Georgie has also raised more than £340 for the Devon Ambulance though her justgiving page, beating the target figure of £200 she had set.

Anyone wishing to donate can still do so by going on to Georgie’s just giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Georgie-Edwards1.
