STUDENTS from a Newton Abbot primary school enjoyed a taste of the catering industry.
Year 5 children from Highweek Primary School were treated to a morning of learning and creativity thanks to staff from the popular Pizza Cafe.
As part of the Start Small Dream Big project, children explored the world of local business and the food industry in a hands-on way.
Pupils had the chance to sample a variety of new and adventurous ingredients including olives, anchovies, and jalapeños, learning about different flavours.
Using freshly made pizza sauce, they created their own personalised pizzas, selecting from a range of toppings.
The experience was fully funded and provided by The Pizza Café.
A school spokesman said: ‘We are incredibly grateful for their time, enthusiasm, and generosity. The visit not only supported the children’s learning about business and food, but also inspired curiosity, teamwork, and creativity.’
