GLADIOLI shown by Mrs J Stacey took the Winifred Shute Gold cup for best overall exhibit at Ashburton and District Garden Association's annual summer show in the town hall on Saturday.
Mrs Stacey also made it a hat-trick by winning the Ian Madden cup for the best exhibit in the open flower/pot plant sections and the Caxton Printers shield for the best exhibit in vegetable, flower/pot plant sections.
Peter Webber also went home with plenty of silverware, taking the awards for the reserve best in show, best vegetable exhibit, most points in the vegetable section and the best collection of vegetables.
Show chairman Mike Harvey excelled as well, winning five trophies.
The Monster trophy for the largest vegetable went to Martin Woollacott's stick of rhubarb.
There was praise from the judges for the standard of the show.
