TONY?ELLIOTT, of Newcross Park, Kingsteignton, writes:
I was not surprised by the outcome of the council and European elections last week.
Government must be blinkered if it did not expect what happened, even with the pathetic turnout of only an average of 34 per cent of voters.
The message must now be very loud and clear – the UK population is now well over saturation point with not enough houses, schools or medical facilities available to cope with the influx of uncontrolled immigration.
Government has been mainly punished because of their ineffective attitude regarding this problem, plus the loss of a grat number of votes from the Christian and Muslin communities due to their blatant stance on gay rights.
With other European countries going down the same route as UKIP, mass immigration must be taken very seriously and taken care of in the immediate future.
During my working life, I have worked in many countries in the Far and Middle East, and Africa. In every country I had to show proof of my qulifictions and work experince, plus my medical condition. Only then was i?allowed entry with a visa, stamped in my passport.
On completion of the projects, it was thank you very much and an exit visa back to the UK.
This is the system that the European Union should be forced to adopt. If not, this political earthquake may well end up as a major European catastrophe, with dire consequences.
