The chairman of Chudleigh History Group has hit out at the neglect and care of the sensory garden at Two Oaks.
Alan Brunton says that clubs, organisations and the church have put a lot of money into the project, but it has never come to full fruition.
He said that the town's history and amenity groups, which saved two oaks from being felled, together with residents, should be allowed to undertake work to make the garden flourish and are happy to do the maintenance.
'We've even said that when the contractor has finished the job we, as volunteers, will help maintain it. 'As far as I'm aware the plants haven't even been planted and the project is two years old,' he said.
