A gang of guerilla gardeners tackled an overgrown verge in Teignmouth on Sunday (July 27) to improve pedestrian safety.

The group, which included councillors David Cox, Dan Comer, Penny Lloyd and MP Martin Wrigley, chopped down overgrown vegetation opposite the fire station to improve pedestrian access and visibility at the busy junction.

Previously, disabled residents have complained that the excessive foliage in the area causes difficulties.

The reduced greenery now makes it easier for pedestrians and vehicles to see. Cutting back the grass and bushes also means there is more room on the pavement for pedestrians to pass each other.
