VOLUNTEERS from Guide Dogs for the Blind held a successful fundraising and awareness event at Buckland and Milber Community Centre.

As well as raising cash from tea, coffee and cake and a raffle, the coffee morning was also organised to raise awareness of the charity’s work.

Amanda Bealing, of Guide Dogs for the Blind, said: ‘It was very successful and went really well.

‘We were asked to go along to some speaking events, had inquiries from people wanting to rehome dogs and inquiries about volunteering.

‘The mayor, Cllr Mike Ryan also came along to support us.’
