PLANS have been submitted for new 5G communications equipment at Haldon Hill, near Kennford, as part of a proposal involving mobile network operator Vodafone.
Telecommunications company Cellnex UK has applied to Teignbridge District Council for planning permission to upgrade equipment at an existing lattice mast on Great Haldon Hill.
The application, reference 26/01615/FUL, proposes removing three existing antennas and installing six new and replacement antennas, alongside additional radio equipment.
The new equipment would be mounted on support poles attached to the existing mast.
The proposal aims to provide electronic communications infrastructure for Vodafone; it does not involve the construction of an entirely new mast.
Teignbridge District Council is expected to make a decision on the application by December 17.
