A CHRISTMAS message from Dawlish Mayor, Cllr Val Mawhood:

In view of the latest advice regarding Covid, we must all be aware of the increasing potential risks of catching the latest variant.

I know that people here are very conscious of the need to protect each other by wearing masks and sanitising our hands and so on.

Sadly, we really are ’all in this together’ but we can get through this latest phase because the people of Dawlish and the wider parish are truly special, considerate, people!

When buying the goodies for Christmas dinner I urge us all to make the most of locally grown produce which will save air miles and help the planet, although some festive goodies such as oranges and such cannot, of course be grown here!

Have fun but stay safe this Christmas and if you know someone who is on their own, give them a smile, a wave, a phone call, or wish them a Happy Christmas’ to brighten their day. Of course, a visit might be even nicer.
