CORONAVIRUS cases are again rising sharply across Teignbridge with 256 new people having a confirmed positive test result on February 3.

The latest Government figures also reveal that between January 28 and February 3, 2,529 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 51.7% compared to the previous seven days.

HOSPITAL

There were no deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported in Teignbridge on the same day.

Meanwhile Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports that five people with coronavirus went into hospital on January 30. Between January 24 and 30, 35 people went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 29.6% compared to the previous seven days.

Vaccinations go on apace and 90,364 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of February 2.
