A TEIGNBRIDGE pharmacist is a winner in the ninth annual Recognition of Excellence (RoE) Awards announced.

Presented by pharmacy trade magazine Training Matters to key healthcare workers the awards recogise outstanding achievements in the world of community pharmacy.

Jayne Bowen, team leader at Well Pharmacy, Kingskerswell, was rewarded for her efforts leading the team throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and thus named the winner of the Team Leader Award.

Having to step up right at the start of the pandemic, Jayne has not only successfully lead the team but the pharmacy has thrived, achieving all 12 key performance indicators each month.

‘At this time, she has accomplished an increase of three per cent in prescriptions, eight per cent in OTC, four per cent in services against a challenging budget.

‘Testament to her willingness to embrace change and implement new services,’ said area operations manager Kelly Holman.

Commenting on the RoE Awards, editor of Training Matters and Awards host Monica West, said: ‘The Recognition of Excellence Awards is the only UK awards that celebrates hard working pharmacy staff, without the focus being on pharmacists.

‘We think it is so important to reward the people who are fundamentally often the backbones of pharmacy teams.

‘These individuals go above and beyond every single day, putting their communities before themselves. We think that’s certainly something to shout about.’
