HEAVY showers and longer spells of rain may bring some disruption to transport and infrastructure, the Met Office says as it issues a weather warning.
The yellow warning comes into affect from 10pm tonight, Thursday, August 28 and lasts until 12pm tomorrow, Friday, August 29.
The Exeter-based forecaster says that, while not everywhere will see the heavy showers or rain, where they do occur, between ten and 20 millimetres of rain in less than an hour is possible.
And between 50 and 70 millimetres of rain is possible in a few hours where heavy showers become more prolonged, this most likely near coasts, the forecaster says.
Some flooding in these wetter areas is possible.
A few showers could be accompanied by the odd rumble of thunder, again this more likely near to coasts.
