M J RUSSELL, of Mayflower Avenue, Newton Abbot, writes:
One hundred and thirty million pounds does seem an exorbitant amount to move a traffic jam eight-and-a-half miles nearer to the coast.
Unless my eyes deceive me, the much hailed Jetty Marsh bypass has not improved traffic congestion in Newton Abbot.
It did, however, create a convenient corridor for housing development.
The environmental impact of the proposed Kingskerswell bypass will far outweigh any accrued advantage.
Instead of churning up more of this 'green and pleasant land', why not use the money for some helicopters for the under-resourced army that is trying to defend it?
