RAISING the calorie count – and funds for a good cause. A groaning table of goodies in Bovey Tracey was polished off to help send young Ellen Wilson on a charity working trip to South Africa in the new year.

The special bash at Ellen’s grandmother Judy Wilson’s home raised £416.60 towards the January venture.

Judy, who staged the coffee morning at her Churchfields home late last month, said: ‘A huge thank you goes to all our wonderful friends in Bovey Tracey who supported the event.’

‘An amazing sum was raised to help Ellen attain her dream to go to South Africa. Everyone has been so generous – and it is very much appreciated.’

So far £3,500 has been collected to pay for the enterprise, with just £2,500 still to go.
