A Devon wildlife charity has launched a campaign to find out more about the state of the county's hedgehog population.

The Devon Wildlife Trust wants records of hedgehog sightings in or near gardens during the last few years.

It said there was growing evidence that numbers were in decline.

The trust's Stephen Hussey said: 'From making your garden more wildlife friendly, feeding your local hedgehog dog food and water, not bread and milk, to ensuring your pond is safe for these lovable creatures, there are plenty of things you can do to help.'
