A HUGE drop in Covid cases has been recorded across Teignbridge.

The latest Government figures show that between May 3 and 9 May 205 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows an increase of 61.4% compared to the previous seven days.

Sadly, there has been one death between the same dates in the district within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

The number of tests has fallen since restrictions were lifted at the start of April. Between May 2 and 8, there have been 6,365 tests in Teignbridge, a decrease of -21.0% compared to the previous seven days.

The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports there were 12 patients in hospital with coronavirus on May 3, none of them was on a mechanical ventilator.
