A HUGE decrease in Covid cases has been recorded in Teignbridge.

Thelatest government figures show that between May 10 and 16, 104people had a confirmed positive test result, a decrease of -49.3% compared to the previous seven days.

Sadly though, four deaths have been recorded in the district over the same time within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports there were 11 patients in hospital with coronavirus on May 10, none of them was on a mechanical ventilator,

While the number of tests carried out in the district has been falling in recent weeks since the lifting of restrictions in April, they have increased slightly.

Between May 9 and 15 there have been 6,419 tests. This shows an increase of 0.8% compared to the previous seven days.
