SHEILA BISHOP, of Hill Park Road, Highweek, Newton Abbot, writes:
Isn't it strange that folk make such a fuss about dogs leaving a mess but don't seem to worry what we humans do.
My friend and I walked our dogs in Bradley Woods one morning and, on the way back, spent at least 20 minutes clearing a 'picnic site', picking up bottles, broken glass, tin cans, boxes, plastic bottles, a pair of shoes (one burned) etc. We moved on to the playing field where we cleared broken glass and bottle from under the big tree – we had three carrier bags of rubbish in the end.
I know no one will do anything about it, but I bet someone will have a go at the mess some folk let their dogs leave behind.
I don't suppose you'll print this as I'm sure you're fed up with this sort of letter but I had to try to get people to do something about the rubbish that's left in our free places of beauty.
