A MAN was hurt in a road accident just before 3.30pm in Newton Abbot this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision in Highweek Street between a Daihatsu pick-up and Transit van.

Paramedics treated the casualty for a head injury at the scene. He did not need to go to hospital.

Both vehicles were registered to Newton Abbot.

Firefighters cleared spilled fuel from the road while police diverted traffic.
