FIREFIGHTERS have released dramatic images of a fire at a derelict building in Kingsteignton that saw five fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a water carrier attend.

Crews from Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey and Dawlish were among those called to a derelict building near Abbrook Pond on the evening of Wednesday, September 17.

Two fire engines were initially mobilised, but upon arriving at the scene, having reported smoke and flames issuing, a further three fire engines, plus an aerial ladder platform and a water carrier were called in.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘This was a derelict building measuring 20m x 10m damaged by fire.

The fire service said it could not fully determine what started the fire, though they said it likely deliberate.
