A teenager from Coombeshead Academy, Newton Abbot, is celebrating the news that she's received a Diana award – a lasting legacy to Princess Diana and her belief that youngsters can change the world, writes Dawn Ellis.

Rachel Duncan, 16, was nominated for the award by her PE teacher Carly Swann, after she raised more than £21,000 for Rowcroft Hospice.

She made the courageous effort to fundraise for the cause after her mother Alison Duncan died of cancer in 2009.
