ARTIST Laura Wall held a pop-up sale of her paintings and raised almost £300 for a local youth arts charity.

Laura Wall, in her newly re-opened Teignmouth store, held the one-day pop-up sale of a dozen of her earlier paintings, hitherto stored in her attic.

Using Facebook and word of mouth, in no time all her mini-collection had sold, and raised almost £300 which she offered to Teignbridge youth arts charity, The Helen Foundation.

Gingerly taking the cash from Laura, THF Trustee Annie Kirk said how grateful the trustees are for such gifts, at a period when fundraising for all the local charities is well nigh impossible in such strange times as we now are living through.

‘Laura’s parked scooter outside the shop may show that she is a Learner, with its L plate, but she is no Learner when it comes to her artwork, marketing and branding, and no Learner when it comes to sheer generosity to the Arts and young people,’ said Annie.
