THE War Graves Commission and the Royal British Legion will both be giving a talk at St. Andrews Church in Ipplepen on Friday, November 11.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s (CWGC) Mark Bailey is to speak for the organisation, with his talk covering the history of the CWGC from its inception through to the present day.

Mike’s presentation will cover how the Commission began, its work during the First and Second World Wars and its work today  maintaining and preserving their historic estate around the World.

The presentation will  also talk about finding and researching war graves in your local area, illustrated by examples from a nearby cemetery.

Mike will then hand the baton to Richard Underhill and David Cair, Chairmand and Vice Chairman of the Newton Abbot branch of the Royal British Legion respectively, who will give a talk about the workcarried out by the Royal British Legion.

The event is set to begin at 7pm, with entry costing £2.50 per person and coffee and cake served up also.
