The crowds came out in force for this year's Lustleigh Show on Bank Holiday Monday (August 25), and were treated to amazing summer sunshine alongside all the entertainment on offer.
The traditional show, which has been running since 1887, entertained crowds for the full day with everything from a parkour versus pedal power display, alongside more traditional entertainments from sideshows to the greasy pole.

The Lustleigh 10k race took place alongside the show, and the winner was Sam Husband from Greenbow Running Club, who completed the course in 39:23. The fastest female was Alice Warwick-James of Holbeton Harriers, who crossed the line in 45:16.
Show Chairman, Andrew Thompson said "It's a privilege to have a show that keeps delighting people every year with our mix of traditional and modern. We love sharing our beautiful Dartmoor village with crowds from across the county and across the country every year"
The show once again had a huge field of classic vehicles, with more than sixty cars and tractors displaying. Meanwhile, the ever-popular test of team strength known as the tug-of-war competition was won by the team from the Wreyland area of the village.

Lustleigh Garden Society hosted the traditional and very well-supported horticultural show with flowers fruits and vegetables all vying for the judges’ attention, whilst out in the main show ground people were taking part in numerous activities from a climbing wall to circus skills.
“The weather was fantastic everyone who turned up had a great time,” added show spokesman Owain Davies. “In fact attendees have flooded to social media to praise the show, with dozens of comments on our Facebook page!”
And as a date for your diaries next year's event will once again be on the Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, 2026.
