A third bid to develop farmland at Pitley Lane, Dolbeare, has been rejected by Teignbridge Council planners.

All the persuasive efforts of agent Amanda Burden and ward members Cllr John Nutley and Cllr Paul Parker could not convince the development control committee on Monday.

Applicant Michael Waycott applied for outline permission to build 14 homes, half of them affordable, on 0.6 ha of rough pasture close to the A38. The number was deleted so that members considered the principle of development only.
