NEW jobs could be coming to Buckfast after Abbey officials confirmed they were set to buy the former spinning mill which closed last month with the collapse of Axminster Carpets.
The devastating move added 130 names to the dole queue and even though the parent firm is up and running again the Teignbridge plant, which supplied yarn to the east Devon factory, remains mothballed.
Equipment has been sold to Midlands carpet manufacturer Brintons for use in its Telford yarn processing plant, dashing hopes of production restarting in the district.
