ACTOR John Nettles, OBE, will be signing copies of the book ‘Legacy of Love’ on Friday, June 24 between 10.30am and 12.30pm in support of the Mare and Foal Sanctuary.

The signing will take place at the charity’s Honeysuckle Farm sanctuary near Newton Abbot.

John Nettles is one of 57 actors, charity founders, poets, artists and photographers who have each contributed a chapter explaining and celebrating their love of animals.

The book is the brainchild of long-standing sanctuary supporter Lynne Chitty who has been working on the project for over a year.

Other contributors include Dame Maureen Lipman, Joanna Lumley OBE and Pam Ayres MBE. There is also a foreword written by Virginia McKenna OBE.

Tickets will cost £12.50 and will include the chance to purchase a copy of the book, the opportunity to meet with John Nettles and have the book signed, as well as a cream tea in the barn in the company of the sanctuary’s rescued horses and ponies - booking is essential and there will only be 30 tickets available.

Lynne Chitty has donated 20 copies of the beautifully illustrated book to the Mare and Foal Sanctuary for visitors to purchase on the day.

All money raised will go towards supporting the Mare and Foal Sanctuary’s work providing lifelong, life-changing loving care to horses and ponies in need.
