YOUNG and old did their bit on Friday to help raise a record £32.6 million for the BBC's Children in Need appeal.

At Ipplepen Primary School, pupils enjoyed an afternoon superhero book readathon, having first asked their families for sponsorship.

Just about every room was transformed into a colourful reading den.
