A primary school in the Bovey Tracey area wants to start a business arrangement.

Guidance from the Department for Education indicates schools should have defibrillators in case of heart attacks among those present.

But St Catherine's School, Heathfield, wants to take the initiative further and make the defibrillators available to neighbours and workers on a nearby industrial estate.

Headteacher Marcus West said: 'Help would be on hand within seconds for everyone.

'In the event of a heart attack that could mean the difference between life or death.'
