DELIGHTED protesters were celebrating as ‘outdated’ plans for a gas-fired power plant were rejected by planners on Tuesday.
At Teignbridge Council’s Planning Committee meeting, proposals for a ‘peaking’ power generator at Heathfield Industrial Estate were met with unanimous opposition, despite being recommended for approval.
The decision by officers to recommend a green light for the plant left councillors scratching their heads.
