RESIDENTS in Newton Abbot have claimed a new road junction is 'an accident waiting to happen'.

Engineers with have opened the top of Aller Brake Road where it meets St Marychurch Road to provide people in Aller with access to and from Penn Inn after changes to be brought about by the construction of the South Devon Link Road.

To prevent rat-running through Aller the junction has been restricted to 'left out - right in' but in the first week of operation drivers have already been ignoring the rules resulting in a number of near-misses.
