A NEW Rotary club for Teignmouth is being launched after a breakaway by some disillusioned members of the existing club.

Four former officers resigned their posts last month, claiming the club had not kept up with the times in allowing women to join and not wanting to attract younger business people.

Now they have set up the Teignmouth Estuary Rotary Club and are holding an inaugural meeting at the Cliffden Hotel on Thursday, September 23, at 6.15pm.

All are welcome to attend to find out more. The event will be supported by district Rotary officers and the mayor of Teignmouth, Cllr Ian Parkes.
