NEWTON Abbot's revived CCTV operation is back in the thick of the action and helping to make about one arrest a day in the town, writes Paul James.

The all-seeing facility – which helps catch thugs, locate missing people and trace thieves – has recovered its momentum after Teignbridge Council pulled the plug on its funding earlier this year.

But now with new backers, the headquarters is buzzing again as it keeps a watchful eye on those who step outside the law.
