ARRANGEMENTS are being made for the closure of the main road through Kenton.
The A379 at South Town will be closed all day from November 10 to 11 for work by National Grid.
The road will be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.
County councillor Alan Connett said Devon County Council is arranging a shuttle bus service to run between Starcross and Teignmouth on an hourly basis while a taxi is being tendered to run between Kenton and Exminster where it will link up with Stagecoach bus service 2 at Victory Hall.
Cllr Connett explained: ‘The school journeys on service 2 will be able to get through as normal and the council has asked that the journeys at 9.28am from Kenton towards Exeter and the 9.20am towards Dawlish and Newton Abbot can be allowed access, given these are due through before the closure starts.
‘The operators of the school ‘contract buses’ to and from Dawlish have also been informed of these works.’
