A LAMB, rejected by its mother, has swapped the district's fields for the residential streets of Newton Abbot.

Month-old Dotty, so called because of the one black spot on her white fleece, has been taken in by Greg Jennings until she is old enough to fend for herself.

She will be hand-fed in the family home in Church Road and was, on Wednesday, being taken for a walk.

A 21-year-old cycle mechanic, Mr Jennings said: 'My family have got land on the back road to Torquay where we keep quite a few sheep and horses.

'Dotty's mum had twins but didn't want this one so we had to take her in.
