A LANTERN parade will illuminate the streets of Newton Abbot tonight during the town’s late night shopping event.
Sally Henley, Newton Abbot Town Development Manager, said the theme for this year’s parade is the nativity.
She said: ‘We’re in for a town full of enormous lantern donkeys, kings on camels, angels and more, all made by pupils from all of the primary schools in Newton Abbot.
‘If you haven’t seen it in previous years it really is spectacular and not to be missed.’
There’s also local and professional al fresco music and entertainment on stages at King Street and Lower East Street, as well as Father Christmas in his clock tower grotto.
Queen Street will be closed from Lemon Jelli down towards Lloyds Bank for the Christmas street fayre.
