FOUR hero lifeboat crewmen who saved the life of a 16-year-old in danger of drowning off Teignmouth, were due to be honoured last night.

Helmsman Will Burton and crewmen Kevin Clifton, Dave Matthews and Richard Boss received letters of commendation from the boss of the RNLI for their 'superb seamanship'.

In dangerous seas, they managed to haul Marcus Baz (left) from Shaldon to safety after he was washed over the sea wall near Sprey Point in December.

The presentation at the Teign Corinthian Yacht Club heard that waves in the Force 6 easterly wind were up to three metres when the inshore lifeboat Peterborough Beer Festival lll arrived at the scene.
