Vandals targeting minibuses belonging to a Newton Abbot charity are potentially putting lives at risk and costing the organisation £2,000 a year.

They are also leaving volunteers to clear up offensive material including human faeces. Used hypodermic needles left lying around suggest drugs are being taken.

Police have also been drafted in and forensic tests are under way after the latest incident at the weekend when blood was smeared across one of the vehicles wing mirror.

The charity provides essential transport for the elderly and isolated and has its headquarters under the Sherborne Road multi-storey car park.
