If you fancy champagne and canapes at Highgrove or snapping up a pair boxing gloves signed by Amir Khan, now's your chance.

Bovey Tracey and District Macmillan Cancer Support has organised a large auction to raise funds for the charity and the above items are just two of the lots up for grabs, writes Dawn Ellis.

Rendells, Newton Abbot, will be in charge of the auction, which takes place at Kingsteignton Pensioners' Centre on September 27.

The fundraisers have written to more than 550 celebrities and well known companies and have received more than 100 gifts to auction.

People will have the chance to bid on a variety of items including tickets to see Les Miserables in the West End, football tickets for Torquay United, rugby tickets for Exeter Chiefs and a trip to the House of Commons.

Organisers have also managed to secure signed photos of Paul O'Grady, Bruce Forsyth and signed books by Rick Stein, Noel Edmunds, Tony Blair and Linda La Plant.

The BBC has also donated an Italian designer blouse, signed by Barbara Windsor who wore it in soap opera EastEnders. ITV has also donated a signed photo of Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton, plus a compact and business card holder.

Lots including first class rail tickets, limo hire, gift vouchers, driving lessons, paintings and designer sunglasses will all go under the hammer.

Hi-tech electrical goods such as a Toshiba recordable DVD player, satellite navigation system and Hoover tumble drier have also been donated for the auction.

A special lot, for women only, has been donated by Eddie Stobart hauliers. Bidders will have the opportunity to name an Eddie Stobart lorry.

'I've been organising this auction since June – the response has been phenomenal,' said Kelly Hayman-Bruce.

'It has taken a lot of time and research and we hope it will be well supported as we have some money-can't-buy lots available.

'There is a variety of items up for auction and it's open to all budgets.

'As well as the wonderful lots, we also have had cash donations, which we are very grateful for. I am also thankful to Kelly McVeigh, who had the job of writing out the envelopes for all 550 letters and to all the people who have helped organise this event.'

Lots can be previewed from 9am on the day of the auction.

It starts at 1.30pm.
